Store owners to remove unlinked cash registers by May 31 in Greece

Cash registers that cannot be linked directly to the tax service must cease being used by May 31, the Independent Authority for Public Revenues (AADE) said on Friday.



The decision by authority head Giorgos Pitsilis will be published in the Government Gazette very soon, and owners of such registers will be obliged to certify they have ceased using them either online (TaxisNet) or at local tax service offices.

According to AADE, the step will allow the transmission to tax authorities of every sale transaction in real time.

A list of the 179 types of cash registers that must be removed is available at the authority's file below.
